Why can't I import single-use plastics?
The Department of Sustainable Development reminds the public of Saint Lucia's continued efforts to reduce our dependence on single-use plastic. The Single-use plastic food service containers currently restricted include: All single-use/disposable STYROFOAM food service containers (egg cartons, cups, plates, hinged take-away containers, trays, bowls) & Other selected single-use/disposable plastic food service items (straws, bowls, plates, spoons and forks, cups, hinged take-away, beverage cup lids, stirrers, bowl lids). Here is a list of the banned items.
Please see the document below for the procedure to be followed in order to import any planting material. These steps are necessary to ensure no items are imported which are detrimental to our local agriculture.
You are required to:
Obtain an import permit for the plant material in question. This must be done first.
Obtain a phytosanitary certificate from your supplier
Submit the purchase invoice and the above two documents to ShopBox
Only upon receipt of all documents above will we be able to commence shipment of your seeds from Miami.

You are ultimately responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the documents provided. Please ensure your import permit is valid for a sufficient timeframe to facilitate the shipment of your item(s) from Miami.
You are required to follow any special instructions listed on your import permit.
Ask your supplier to send the phytosanitary certificate with the seeds. Also request that they email you a copy as well. If for any reason your supplier is unable to issue this certificate, we advise you to utilise a different supplier.
Locally, Customs can seize and destroy seeds with incomplete or fraudulent documentation, so please ensure the accuracy of your documentation prior to submission. In the event your items are seized by Customs, please note our invoice charges are still payable.
While this process may seem somewhat tedious, it is imperative that the correct procedure is followed to avoid any difficulties with your shipment.

If your order was shipped as several separate items, ShopBox currently does not offer consolidation in Miami due to the logistics and volume of cargo. Packages are scheduled to be shipped once received and processed, and customers will receive individual invoices for each package.
For items you wish to ship via sea freight, please email your request 48 hours before the package's delivery, followed by a phone call to ensure we have received your request. Include the tracking number and a copy of the invoice in your email to fulfill your request effectively.
Delays with packages shipped via USPS may occur due to their high parcel volume, which can lead to incorrect delivery status records. ShopBox is not liable for these delays. If your package is delayed and not shipped with USPS, ensure your complete ShopBox shipping address was entered during checkout and that the shipper labeled your package with the complete delivery address.
You can receive packages of almost any size through your ShopBox account, as we primarily use airfreight. For large items like furniture and appliances, consider using our ShopBox Ocean Service.
Once a package is in transit to the warehouse, it may not be possible to stop its delivery. However, ShopBox can attempt to assist if you provide the invoice and tracking number before the package's delivery at the warehouse.
Packages must be collected in the order in which ShopBox received them, meaning the oldest packages must be collected first.
ShopBox allows items to be held for a short duration, such as during overseas travel, but requests that efforts be made to collect items within 30 days to maintain efficient service. While there are currently no rent fees for uncollected items, ShopBox will seek to recover payment for items left uncollected for an extended period.
